Legend of the Toke-O-Lantern

Legend of the Toke-O-Lantern

Long ago, in a garden nestled in a far, far corner of the enchanted forest, there lived a master grower known as Radagrin the Greenleaf. And though he tended to his flowers in a solitary manner, Radagrin's reputation extended throughout the forest. He was known as the guardian of the most exquisite flower strains in all the land. His buds, lush and aromatic, were treated like royalty, pampered under the watchful eye of their dedicated caretaker.

One Halloween, in the heart of his garden, he nurtured a large pumpkin that bore a stock resembling a witch's hat. Intrigued by its unique form, he carved a grinning face into the pumpkin and brought it into his sacred Wizard Shed for a session of meditation.

As the mystical smoke of meditation swirled around the room, Radagrin exhaled it gently onto the jack-o'-lantern. To his astonishment, the carved pumpkin came to life, its glowing red eyes blinking open as it inhaled the fragrant smoke. It spoke to the wizard inquisitively, asking, "What am I?"

Radagrin, in his deeply meditated state, gazed upon the animated pumpkin with a knowing smile and replied, "You are a Toke-O-Lantern, a guardian of the green herb. Your purpose is to watch over those who gather to partake in the herb's magic on All Hallows Eve, and protect them from the shadows that seek to oppress."

From that day onward, stoners far and wide would leave out Toke-O-Lanterns every Halloween, an enduring tradition to ensure they could partake in the green herb's delights in peace, safeguarded by the watchful spirit of Radagrin's creation.
